BWY Open Day West Sussex: Gravity and Grounding
10/03/2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
During this day of yoga we will practice a range of postures which involve a transfer of weight. This focus will allow us to practice flowing sequences, as well as balances.
We will notice our changing relationship with the ground and with gravity as we move and breathe. A felt sense of this rather elusive concept ‘gravity’ will also inform our understanding of that other principle, often equally elusive, ‘grounding’. As such we will explore the following questions: can we anchor and feel ‘grounded’ without collapsing? can we be upright without ‘over lengthening’ and introducing tension? Can we refine effort so that we move with more comfort and ease?
Throughout the day we will practice with attention and awareness so that our yoga is nourishing and supportive of ourselves as a whole. The day will include some quiet sitting and relaxation.
